City of the Devil

Revelation 17
is dedicated towards describing the city from which the anti-christ emerges.
A woman is commonly used throughout the Bible to symbolize God's church, and the city in Revelation 17 is described metaphorically as a whore which makes perfect sense when you realize this city represents a corrupt church.
Let us examine the clues given to John in his vision to determine what we are talking about. Remember, the clues will not make sense by themselves,
but when you add them up there is only one city that fits every description.

1.17:1b "...I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters."
-17:15 clarifies this description. "...the waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."
-17:18 "And the woman which thou sawest is that great city which reigneth over the kings of the earth."

2. 17:2 "With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."
-It is very clear from this verse that this woman (city) has had improper relationships with world leaders.
-Notice the indication that many on earth were partakers in her corruption.

3. 17:4 "And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication."
-Purple and scarlet are colors symbolic of royalty and power. This verse is an important clue concerning the city John is describing.
-The mention of gold, precious stones, pearls, and a golden cup are obvious symbols of great wealth.
4.17:6 "...I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints...with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus..."

-This description helps narrow down the list of possible cities, as there is only one city responsible for the murdering of millions of Christians, and thereby "drunk with the blood of saints."
5.17:9 "...the woman sitteth on seven hills." -Living Translation

-There are a few cities which fit this description of sitting on seven hills, but only one which matches every other description.

617:10-11 "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."

There is only one city which fits EVERY description:

1. Influential among many nations
2. Influential among world leaders
3. A symbol of power and wealth
4. Responsible for the deaths of many Christians
5. Sits on seven hills
6. Has its own king (leader)
7. Represents a corrupt church.

The Vatican City, which IS the heart of the Roman Catholic Church, is known for vast wealth corruption, political influence, and was responsible for murdering millions of saints during the Inquisitions
The Vatican City is in Rome, which is historically famous as the "city of seven hills."
And since the vatican city became it's own kingdom, the 7th leader just resigned.
There is now an 8th leader, but unless he was born in the vatican, you can bet your life that something crazy is about to happen (likely an assassination), and the real 8th leader will soon emerge.  Evil is reaching a feverish pitch, and will not tolerate a strong leader opposed to gay rights and abortion, or an ally to Israel.
The anti-christ is supposed to emerge during a crisis in the middle east, and propose a 7 year peace treaty.  Guess what, there is a crisis escalating in the middle east between Israel and Iran's coalition.  The anti-Christ is also supposed to implement a new type of currency, and guess what, with the United States and United Kingdom leading the world in tremendous debt operating full speed ahead with no serious talks of budget or deficit cuts while continuing to kick the debt back farther, the major currencies teeter further over the edge of ruin setting the stage for the emergence of a new currency.
